Driving Licences

As of the 1st January 1997, anyone who passes their car (category B) driving test after this date can only drive a vehicle up to the G.V.W of 3,500kgs.  If you passed your test before this date you can drive a vehicle up to the G.V.W of 7,500kgs.  


If you passed your test after 1st January 2007 and you want to purchase a vehicle with a G.V.W over 3,500 kgs, then you need to take a C1 test which will allow you to drive any rigid vehicle as long as it does not bend ie not articulated vehicles.
